How We Review AI Tools
Short version: no one pays to be ranked, pricing is verified against vendor pages, and we're honest about what we've used hands-on versus researched.
1. Where picks come from
We maintain a database of 88+ AI tools across 20+ job categories. For each job we compare capability, pricing, free-tier generosity and ease of use, then name a best overall, best free and best value pick. Sources: official documentation and pricing pages, changelogs, our own use, and patterns in real user reports (forums, reviews, communities).
2. Hands-on vs researched — the honest split
We run a real content business on part of this stack every day — those tools are listed openly in the stack we actually use. Verdicts on those come from daily experience. We do not pretend to have lab-tested all 88+ tools; the rest are researched systematically as described above. If a verdict is experience-based, the writing reflects it.
3. Pricing verification
Every page carries a last verified date. Pricing and free tiers are checked when a page is published and re-verified on a rolling basis (target: quarterly). AI pricing changes weekly — if you spot something stale, tell us and we'll fix it within days.
4. Independence & money
No pay-for-placement. No sponsored rankings. Affiliate links (disclosed) never affect position — several top picks have no affiliate program at all. We also sell our own Stack Guide; it recommends the same picks published free on this site, packaged with workflows.
5. Corrections
Factual error or outdated price? Email hello@aitoolradar.xyz. Corrections ship in the next site build, usually within days.
